The difference between an intermediary and a healthcare provider, how to question the licence, and the warning signs to watch for.

An intermediary and a healthcare provider are not the same thing
There are two separate parties in health tourism. The healthcare provider is where the patient is examined, the diagnosis is made and the treatment is applied. The intermediary takes on the planning, coordination, interpreting, transfer and accommodation.
Knowing this distinction protects the patient. An intermediary that talks as if it had its own physicians and clinic is blurring where medical responsibility sits. Where responsibility is blurred, there is no one to turn to when something goes wrong.
Warning signs to watch for
None of the situations below is conclusive on its own, but if several appear together it is sensible to slow the process down and ask questions.
A promised outcome
A medical outcome cannot be promised in advance. A narrative that promises a definite result is also contrary to regulation.
A rushed decision
Limited-time offers, pressure to decide today and hurried bookings are not sound ground for a health decision.
A plan that is not written down
If the treatment plan, its scope and the division of responsibility are not in writing, they cannot be followed up later.
An unclear counterpart
If you are not told which facility and which physician will perform the treatment, the process is not transparent.
The right questions
Asking these four questions before working with an organisation clarifies most of the process: Which health facility will provide the treatment, and what is its licence number? Which physician will create the treatment plan? Which services are included in the process and which are not? In the event of a complication, who is the counterpart and how will follow-up work?
An organisation that answers these questions clearly and in writing has already provided most of the trust you are looking for in health tourism.
